Nebraska will be using a five-year strategic plan to emphasize international trade and relations. The plan is the result of the creation of the Governor’s Council on Foreign Relations.

Governor Pete Ricketts said during a Wednesday news conference that international trade is big, for Nebraska.

Ricketts said it’s important that members of various sectors and organizations combine their efforts to promote exports and foreign investment in Nebraska.

Nebraska Department of Economic Development Director Dave Rippe noted that 95% of the world’s population exists outside the United States.
