Today, Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts signed into law LB347, a bill introduced by Senator Suzanne Geist of Lincoln aimed at reforming requirements on acquiring school bus permits. LB347 was introduced on behalf of Governor Ricketts as part of his broader occupational licensing reform package.

“Working with the Legislature, we are successfully making state government more customer-focused by eliminating wasteful red-tape and unnecessary professional licensing requirements,” said Governor Ricketts. “Thank you to Senator Geist for introducing this common sense legislation and to each senator who voted for this bill. This is another step towards getting government out of the way of Nebraskans pursuing opportunities in our state, and we look forward to continued work on occupational licensing reform during this session.”
