Gov. Chris Sununu on Thursday launched his Recovery Friendly Workplace initiative to help people recovering from addiction get a job and keep it.
Businesses participating in the program will display a “Recovery Friendly” logo, signaling that they are receptive to hiring people in recovery from substance use disorders.
“The Recovery Friendly symbol will also signal to consumers that these businesses offer their friends and loved ones more than a job,” according to the program website.
“This initiative will help businesses attain greater safety, productivity, and profitability by addressing addiction ‘head on’ in the workplace,” Sununu said in a statement on the new program.
A website at recoveryfriendlyworkplace.com will serve as the landing page for all interested businesses to participate, first by submitting a letter of intent.
